Hugo Gunnarsen directed Verizon's Infrastructure and Platform Services hardware strategy for 15+ years. As VP of the Performance Engineering Team, he was in charge of driving the adoption of new technology, implementing total cost of ownership modeling and creating server offerings available to Verizon's engineers. His daily work consisted of working with business units to optimize software and hardware to improve latency, throughput and cost. Prior to joining Verizon, he was in charge of designing and operating data centers for Fast Search & Transfer that hosted the search engine AllTheWeb (largest web index at the time). He started out his career at Silicon Graphics specializing in High Performance Computing and Visualization markets. Hugo studied Computer Science at Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTNU).
